Payroll Manager - Full Time Permanent Role
Salary £24,750.00 pa
Location - Warrington - WA1 - Hybrid Role 3 days office based

Role Description
Reporting directly to the Head of Payroll & Pensions responsible for accuracy of the payroll services.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for the daily operation of multiple Parasol payroll and pension processes.
Responsible for ensuring all payrolls are accurate and executed within agreed service levels.
Responsible for the accurate processing of pension contributions.
Ownership of implementing, maintaining and auditing controls to ensure transactions are accurately recorded and errors are mitigated in the payroll function including completing the monthly audits.
Ownership of monthly reconciliations.
Keeping up to date with technical and legislative developments in payroll or impacting payroll.
Implement new procedures to ensure continuous improvement within the department.
Support and coach team members with any identified training needs.
Focus on motivational activities with the team and rest of the business.
Lead the team using a performance development plan.
Support all team members regarding query escalation and resolution.
To improve service delivery for employees and finance.
Support the Head of Payroll & Pensions with HMRC relationship and associated queries and appeals.
Support the Head of Payroll & Pensions with tax year end tasks/project for payroll
Support the Head of Payroll & Pensions with project-based work relating to the wider Group that requires technical payroll input.
Ad-Hoc duties/projects as required.
Person Specification:
Essential:
Knowledge of Umbrella, CIS, PEO and PAYE/Payroll Bureau payroll models (signification experience in at least one of these payroll models)
Knowledge of Payroll legislation and ability to interpret and develop as policy to inform service.
Experience of leading a team
Exceptional communication skills
Proven ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
Flexible and logical approach to payroll related issues and processing
Desirable:
- CIPP qualified or Level 5 equivalent
- Experience of change management and implementing new payroll systems
